A LITTLE SOMETHING EXTRA

We first learned about the concept of lagniappe in New Orleans, a city renowned for its history and uniqueness. The locals all know what it means, but folks outside of the city have rarely heard of the term – although we are all familiar with the concept. Lagniappe translates from cajun creole into “a little something extra.”

The concept developed in the marketplace, when a merchant would throw in a sweetener with a purchase. If you’ve ever purchased a dozen doughnuts and gotten a box with thirteen then you’ve been the recipient of lagniappe.

We chose this to represent our brand because we know the marketplace is filled with options, and some are better than others. We hope to bring a little something extra to the table through design, materials, production, and relationships with the people who support our brand.

UNIQUE FABRICS, MADE IN THE USA

We are committed to sourcing unique fabrics (almost exclusively vintage, deadstock threads that can’t be found anywhere else) and making everything in the USA. Choosing to use rare fabric naturally puts a limitation on how much of a given design we can produce, so we will often have limited edition runs ranging from eight to fifty of a certain piece. We believe every investment you make in one of our designs will become a personal favorite that you keep reaching for when deciding what to wear.
